Inspired by a pattern in Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House, this Arts & Crafts style votive candle lamp is a beautiful addition to your desk or side table. This votive candle holder has a metallic copper paint finish, or you can upgrade the finish to wood. Panels are finished with hand cut vellum paper to provide a warm glow.

The Frederick C Robie House is now a museum that you can tour in Chicago, Ill. Built between 1909 and 1910, the house was designed as a single family home and is renowned as the greatest example of Prairie School, the first architectural style considered uniquely American.

Prairie School emphasizes the horizontal over the vertical. Dramatic twenty-foot cantilevered roof shades ribbons of art-glass windows below creates privacy and seamlessly connects the interior and exterior. Inside is a light-filled open plan, centered around a main hearth. Wright responded to the more informal quality of the modern American lifestyle. The Robie House’s influence on American architecture was immediate and undeniable.

The votive holder not only serves as a functional piece for holding candles but also as a small-scale representation of Wright's architectural genius. Its ability to cast a warm, dappled light through its intricately patterned sides pays homage to Wright's mastery in manipulating light and shadow, making it not just a decorative item, but a piece of art that reflects the legacy of a legendary architect.

I create all of my lamps out of 1/8" US made engineered wood panels. The lightweight property of using this thickness means that it can easily be placed higher on shelves or windowsills. Unlike the heavier products made out of 1/2" wood panels. It also reduces the amount of dust trapped in the design.
