Home of the Greek gods, Mount Olympus appears as a mystical world above the human plain. This view of its high peaks, in their variety of landscape and mingling with the clouds, is otherworldly. The MOUNTAINS Collection, and this piece, is an exploration of brush + line, using the metaphorical form of MOUNTAIN to see how the marks of paintbrush and pen or pencil, with their contrasting textures, can work together to model the tactile surfaces of land.

The sunset casts sharp pink beams and points on the rolling peaks of Mount Olympus. Lines in fine black ink and wild graphite ground these mammoth landforms and a calming, wise blue-green-grey watercolor rests in the rocky crevices.

Printed by a professional archival giclee printer on Cold Press Natural 340 gsm (nice and thick) Epson Watercolor Paper.
Print is signed & dated by me, on back.
