What is the condition of vintage items?

Vintage and antique items by nature have some wear, imperfections and signs of use and age. They are sold in used, pre-loved and owned condition. All items will be described as accurately as possible.

How do you grade records? Can you play the records?

All records are cleaned, visually graded and play tested before listing. Any imperfections noted during visual inspection for example, hairlines, scuffs or scratches will be listed in the description. Sound quality for example crackling or popping will be added to the description. I do not list records that cannot be played.

All electrical items should be checked and tested by a qualified electrician before use. At time of listing all electrical items are in working condition unless stated otherwise.

Shipping & Tariffs, Duties, Fees

Shipping is calculated by weight, size, value and destination. All shipping costs quoted include tracking to enable you to track your parcel and provide peace of mind for everyone. Please supply a contact number as this is required by the shipping company. Combined shipping is available and is calculated at checkout. Excess postage is always refunded. Buyers are responsible for any tariffs, duties and fees that may apply. For US buyers the tariff is included in the shipping price you see at checkout. Some items are exempt from tariffs. Orders received from the EEA and NI will be cancelled and full refund given due to ongoing regulations and restrictions.

Vintage from the 1920s

This is a lovely powder compact dating to between the late 1920's and 1930's.

Silver tone engine turned metal case with butterfly wing decorated lid of palm trees, sea and buildings. Rich turquoise, green, blue and brown colours.
The butterfly wing decoration has a clear plastic covering.
The base is convex, ie curves outwards like a dome.

The powder compact opens to reveal a framed metal mirror, with a mechanical centre. This is pushed down to enable the powder to propel upwards onto your puff.
The has a patent number of 247962 and Worldwide Patents stamped on it.

The butterfly wing powder compacts were very popular in the 1920's, this powder compact dates to early 1930's.

Dimensions:
5.5cms or 2.16"

The powder compact is in good vintage condition and has some light wear from use and age.
The butterfly wing decoration is largely intact with some light wear in places. This does not detract. The lid has a slight depression in the centre from where over the years it has been opened and closed.
Metal mirror is reflective, there are 2 pin size dings in the metal.
Powder well operates as it should.
No dents or dings to case.
Catch is a little stiff.

The compact displays well and would make a lovely addition to a collection.
