The kit contains wool to make the penguin along with the tools needed to complete it. large clear photographs accompany the thorough instructions showing every step needed to finish your project. This kit is designed for beginners, no previous knowledge of felting or sewing is necessary. The average time spent on this project is about 3 hours.

*No cushion and needles - I offer this option for those who would like to purchase more than one kit. You will only need one set of needles and one cushion for multiple felting projects. Please note that I remove the cushion and needles from a complete kit for this option. The packaging will stay the same and will state that the cushion and needles are included even though they have been removed.
*Kit W/Wool Cushion - This kit includes everything listed above except we trade out the foam cushion for our specially designed wool felting cushion. We designed it ourselves and manufacture them right here at Bear Creek with, you guessed it, our very own wool. This is a great choice if you plan on doing more felting in the future. The wool felting cushion should last you a lifetime where foam cushions need replacing in between projects. Bundled together here at a reduced price to get you started with the best supplies.

I am afraid I do not do custom work. I did for awhile and found that it was more stressful and took the fun out of what I do. I have found that I can do better work on an animal that I am inspired to make.

That said, I do take requests. I love to hear what my customers would like me to make. I can't guarantee that I will make it but sometimes I am inspired by a request. I keep a list of requests and check it often when deciding what I would like to make next. If you have pictures that is even more inspiring.

I try to notify the person that has made the request when I make that particular animal. I post all my new works on my Facebook page, plus I send out an email newsletter.

All of my kits are designed for beginners. You will be able to complete these kits even if you have never even heard of felting before. Beginners can do any of the kits but I have ordered them in order of difficulty here:

This depends on the child. There are sharp needles in the kit and it does require some patience. I have had 7 year olds complete the kits without a problem. Younger children have completed my kits with the help of an adult.
