Antique Victorian Gold Framed Photo Mother & Daughter circa 1900s

How sweet is this photo? Looks like a mother & daughter photo. Could they have been celebrating a wedding or another special occasion, or just capturing this place and time in their lives?

Photo has nice sepia tones with a matt and gold-tone wood frame. There is some chipping of the paint as seen in photos. I tried to capture an embossment on the bottom of the matt as seen fifth photo, only "& Ewing" is visible as the frame is covering the rest of it. When I searched Ewing Washington DC, I found a site that noted Harris and Ewing were Washington’s most noted portrait photographers from 1905 to 1955. I love history, so I thought this was interesting. A hole has been punched in the back for hanging purposes, so part of the sticker is missing. It looks like this was framed at an art and picture frame department out of Washington, DC.
