The first burn is the most important! When you bring your new candle home and light it for the first time, make sure you'll be around for a while. Light the candle, and let it burn in a draft-free area until the pool of melted wax reaches the edges of the container. This can take up to three hours, so be patient! If you don't allow the candle to burn to the edges on the first burn, it most likely won't ever get there on future burns. If for any reason the wick becomes off-center while burning, always be sure to blow it out and recenter it before the wax dries.

1. When only 1/4 inch of wax remains, it's time to give that candle a new life! Don't burn a candle with less than 1/4 of wax remaining, that's not safe.
2. Use a spoon to scoop out the remaining wax and wick, and wipe out any excess wax using a small rag. Feel free to wash the container with warm water, too. A dab of rubbing alcohol helps to remove wax and can go a long way in removing greasy residue.
3. Now the fun part. Fill your empty Aerangis candle jar with your favorite potted plant or succulent, toothbrushes or makeup brushes in the bathroom, pens and pencils on your desk - the possibilities are endless.

"The Beginning" is not just a candle; it's more akin to alchemy. It's a photorealistic, night-blooming, narcotic floral scent that is hauntingly authentic, that's both familiar and exotic at the same time. I've spent 40+ years immersed in candles, incense, essential oils, and perfumes, and nothing else can compete with this. If you're into luxury candles (or not), you have to experience this candle at least once. It's a real achievement in this field of work and art.
