Highlights

This handmade wooden spatula is carved from various hardwoods. ***IMPORTANT: This item will be made to order with a 1-2 week processing time. It will most likely not arrive before Christmas.*****

It is 11 inches long and 3 3/8 inches wide.

This is available in right- and left-handed versions. Unfortunately, I can only include 10 photos, so I can't link a picture to each wood option for the left and right. I've included a photo of the left- and right-handed versions side by side. The left is just the mirror image of the right.

It is a reproduction of a much-loved spatula.

The ones pictured are examples. The one you receive will vary a little in grain and color.

See the options menu for available wood species. If you don't see the species you want, contact us and tell us to get our butts in gear and make some.

The handle is curved, and the tool is available in left- and right-handed versions. See the side-by-side photo.

The front edge is set at about a 15% angle.

the top of the blade is flat and the bottom is slightly curved so that the edges are thin, especially along the front edge.

The flat front edge is great for chopping ground meat in the pan which is one thing I use my spatulas for a lot.

I like to turn the spatula upside down and use that front edge to scramble eggs.

This utensil is "pre-washed" so to speak. The grain has been raised with water during the finishing process to remove any loose fiber ends so the spoon will remain smooth after you use it.

Care is easy, just wash in hot soapy water, towel dry, and apply some mineral oil or walnut oil every couple of weeks or you can buy some of our spoon oil finish which is Beeswax and mineral oil. A 4 oz. jar lasts for a long time and it will help to keep your spoon looking and feeling good for many years. You can make your own by melting 1 part beeswax into 3 parts mineral oil in a double boiler. It should be the consistency of Chap Stick when it cools. I recommend applying the wax with a pad of 0000 steel wood. This is a very fine abrasive which will remove any loose fibers that have risen and will keep your tool as smooth as it can be, which makes cleaning easier. I've got some tools that are 20 years old and get used almost every day and they have held up beautifully using this treatment.

Legacy.
