Fabric shades are generally made from cotton/poly material. Lampshades are not meant to be washed, placed in water. In the unlikely event you need to clean your lampshade, gently wipe with a damp cloth, water only. My suggestion is to vacumn regularly to prevent them from getting dirty.

Lampshades will fit three types of lamps. By default the shade will fit a U.K. lamp. Each order includes a ring insert that will adapt the space to fit a E.U. lamp. If you need to fit a U.S. finial lamp you can say so on your order and I will include an additional insert for the ring. UK the opening measures 1 5/8 inches/4 cm. Euro insert will give you an opening of 1 1/8 inch/2.8 cm. U.S. insert will make the opening 3/8 inch/ 1 cm.

Will it really take two weeks for me to get my lampshade?

How do I determine what size of lampshade I need?

Ultimately it comes down to your personal preference but the following measurements will help. To determine the height of your shade, measure the height of your lamp (from just below the bulb holder to the base). The height of your shade should be approx. 1/2 the height of your lamp. To determine the diameter of your shade, measure the diameter of your lamp base. The diameter of the shade should be as a minimum twice the size of the lamp base.

First lampshade: GO BIG OR …. At 60 cm this is the biggest drum shade I have made to date. Love the big look over a table. This one is going to Canmore, Alberta where it will be joined with coordinating newly upholstered chairs. Fabric is Stanhope Pearl available @tonicliving.

Second lampshade: This two-tiered custom piece was a second hand find recovered. The larger shade is covered in a lovely white with horizontal and vertical lines in the fabric that especially show when lit. The smaller shade was covered in a burnt orange fabric to tie the lamp into other elements in the room. While making it struck me that the white fabric would look great just on it's own in a single shade. Fabric available for custom lampshades.

Third lampshade: This "CUTIE" is a custom piece. The base was a thrift store find and the fabric for the shade was a found on an Ottawa Fabric Destash FB group. TA DA! 80's Art Deco inspired base, 60's inspired fabric and you have ECLECTIC? BOHO? Fabric still available.

This item is used to order your custom designed, handmade in Canada, rolled edge drum style lampshade. If you haven't already messaged me to work on and confirm your design please do so before ordering.

Can be used on a table, floor or as a pendant light. Lampshades are available in 40 cm, 30 cm and 20 cm diameter sizes. 40 cm is typically used as a pendant light above a table or in a hall. 30 cm works well on a large lamp base. 20 cm fits a small lamp base and also looks great as a grouping of pendant lights. Visualize three above an island.

In addition, custom sizes and material may be agreed upon and additional options to choose from will be added to this item to accomodate.

Will accommodate UK/EU lamps and hanging fixtures (Ikea standard) and U.S. finials.

If you want to make sure the fabric is a good match for your interior, order a swatch.

Constructed with flame retardant PVC white translucent lining (default) or gold opaque lining (extra cost).

Just let us know if you need a ring to accommodate U.S. finial lamps.

Simply stunning lampshades that are more beautiful than anticipated. Might have a problem with the electric bill as with lamp turned on, the look of the room is so elegant. Fabric weave is magnificent and it seems to give everything class. Vendor shipping was beyond expectations as well and will retain box to keep protected so everything stays intact when moving to the new home. Vendor provided US harp conversion washers. These lampshades are well worth the price.
