I wanted to create a back patch version of my popular "All Empires Fall" patch featuring the decaying ruins of the Colosseum. I wanted to make something slightly different though. I chose to use the Parthenon for this version as it was the temple of Athena, patron goddess of the city state Athens. Athens was a true direct democracy, unlike the republics of today which are actually based on Roman politics, not the Greek city states the claim lineage with.

Each back patch will be slightly different as each print is done manually. This means there may be more of less ink in areas like the upper right hand corner or backdrop area in general. Personally, I love this as it generates a sort of vintage feel.

Screen Printing, also known as silk screening, is an ancient process of transferring a design to fabric that has been used for over 1000 years. The first known screen printing comes from Song Dynasty China and occurred around 960–1279 CE! Because this is an art performed by hand, instead of modern forms of digital printing or iron on printing, there is a small degree of variation in the way prints come out. Sometimes there is a little more or less ink in a particular area leading to each print being somewhat unique. You should expect there to be slight variations in the thickness of lines or depth of color – ESPECIALLY - on the Empire's Fall series where corruption of detail is intentional to fit the theme.
