An original antique Edwardian 1900s soutache net lace long sleeve women's high neck blouse. The sheer long sleeves are made from the net material with horizontal pin tucks. The front and back of the blouse are made from a slightly larger net material with a raised floral soutache lace design. Crochet lace bands are across the chest and around the neck alternating with net lace. Five pairs of decorative fabric covered buttons accent the front collar.
The blouse closes up the back with a row of metal hooks some attach to metal eyes and some with threaded loops. It may be difficult to put this on by yourself. There are 3 decorative fabric covered buttons at the back of the neck.
In very good condition. The blouse is sturdy enough to be worn with care. Has been hand washed and thoroughly cleaned by soaking it overnight in a specialized detergent for antique and vintage textiles called Restoration. This helps to remove stains, spots and yellowing from age and storage. There are a few light blue spots near the back of the waist that did not come out. The stays in the neck which were used to hold up the neck are broken but the neck closes with hooks and eyes up the back. Some of the metal hooks have a greenish corrosion on them. The fabric covered buttons on the collar are a bit darkened.
