These commercially tanned skins are 2-3 oz. in weight (thickness) and are pliable. The grain has been buffed down (but not removed) to give it a mate feel/finish. We combine dyes to give them the look of smoked brain tanned hides. They have not actually been smoked.

They are processed for the suede side so they have been buffed smooth and level. The grain sides will have some blemishes, etc. Any footage marks will be low on the neck portion to give you the largest useable area.
