Welcome to Lee & Pearl. Please enjoy this listing of lightweight 100% silk shantung in a strié dupioni weave, available in three colorways, priced and cut to order in HALF YARD increments.
ABOUT THIS SILK FABRIC:
Some time ago, Lee & Pearl purchased the remaining silk fabric inventory from a small, high-end manufacturer of custom Korean hanbok and bridal garments. As part of that inventory, this beautiful strié-woven fabric came to us without any weave, origin or other information. We have burn-tested both the warp and weft threads, and are certain that it is 100% silk. It has a dupioni weave (the warp and weft threads have different weights and colors for a shimmering, changeable appearance) and a slightly slubby surface texture.
We feel confident in classifying this fabric as a lightweight shantung, suitable for doll sewing, lightweight dressmaking and decorative lining — but not for sewing structured garments like suit jackets or boned bodices, unless it is used as a surface fabric and underlined with something more sturdy.
Please view all our pictures and read the descriptions below carefully for thread color and weight information of the three different colorways. We do not know the MOMME weights of any of these fabrics, but have marked the ACTUAL weights of one 18" (half yard) x 44" strip along with the colorway information below.
Please note that the CRANBERRY SHIMMER colorway has thicker weft (crosswise) threads and is thus a heavier material than the MOSS ROSE and SILVER SAGE fabrics, which are almost (but not quite) sheer.
As all $35-and-up orders from our shop ship FREE in the US, be sure to browse our other fabric and pattern listings before checking out. BUT DON'T WAIT TOO LONG TO ORDER. We are not a manufacturer or wholesaler. Once a listed fabric has sold out, it's gone for good.

This listing includes three colorways of lightweight 100% silk shantung in a strié dupioni weave:
CRANBERRY SHIMMER – 44" wide – a deep red strié shot silk that glistens with an array of colors when the light hits it thanks to gold, light green, white, black and aquamarine lengthwise warp threads and a thick, cranberry red weft thread. One 18" (half yard) x 44" strip of this fabric weighs 1.8 oz.
MOSS ROSE – 44" wide – a cool, muted pink strié shot silk that glistens with an array of colors when the light hits it thanks to gold, light green, white, black and aquamarine lengthwise warp threads and a cool pink weft thread. One 18" (half yard) x 44" strip of this fabric weighs 1 oz.
SILVER SAGE – 44" wide – an icy, moss green strié shot silk that glistens with an array of colors when the light hits it thanks to gold, light green, white, black and aquamarine lengthwise warp threads and a pale green weft thread. One 18" (half yard) x 44" strip of this fabric weighs 1 oz.

All fabrics in this listing are 100% silk and a standard 43–45" width.
Please CHECK THE RULER on the left side of our flat photos to make sure that the scale of the weave is appropriate for your project.
NOTE: Whenever possible, Lee & Pearl cleanly rip fabrics instead of cutting them, so you get the full yardage you ordered and do not lose inches to an off-grain cut.
There are no smokers in our workroom, but we cannot promise that there were no smokers in the factory, warehouse, workshop, home or storefront from which we got these materials. We have not detected any odors.
There are cats in the same building as the Lee & Pearl workroom, though we have kept them separate from these fabrics.
