This card depicts the mischievous behaviours of the Yule Lads. A brilliant folklore from Iceland.

Since the 17th Century, the Yule Lads have been a popular Christmas folklore within Iceland.
Each named after their favourite way of harassing, these thirteen cheeky pranksters take turns visiting your home on the thirteen nights before Christmas. They love to make mischief so make sure to close your doors and store away your valuables – otherwise you might regret it! Stories depict that if you place a shoe on your windowsill they will leave you a gift. Be warned, have you been naughty or nice? They will decide. If you’ve been naughty, you will get old rotting potatoes, but if you’ve been nice, they will fill your shoes with gifts.
