This hand-knit women’s cardigan sweater is meant to be oversized & fit loosely. It is sized as a (S/M). It’s one of a kind in that I’ve hand-designed, embroidered and knit a unique scene for each pocket making this cardigan a piece of wearable art; one you’ll enjoy wearing!
Knit from a soft, machine washable - dryable yarn that’s 80% Acrylic, 20% Wool, you’ll feel snuggly warm & cozy on the cold days of Winter & Fall. Knit on circular needles, this beautiful chunky-knit cardigan features well-defined stitches that form an unusual design of ridges which encircle the sweater at regular intervals. The front and back are basically knit as one piece. (I’ve included this quote from the sweater pattern as it best explains the way this cardigan is designed to fit: “This drop sleeve cardigan is oversized, relaxed, loose, and slouchy with 10-16” of positive ease built into the design. This means that if the actual bust of your body is 32” (typically a tie small,) the bust of the size small sweater is 10-16” larger (48”)
I thought it would be nice to add a pocket to this sweater,. The pocket, stitched with my own hand embroidered country scene of two lambs on a flower-filled hillside with an apple tree measures approximately 5 1/2” across and 5” high. The length of the cardigan is about 25” and the sleeve length is about 18 1/2”. The finished bust measurement is approximately 48”around.
This sweater is easy to wear, just slip it on; it’s wonderfully warm & comfortable! The color is very elusive & tricky to describe. It’s not gray and it’s not blue It’s a blued tint of blur-gray and it’s appearance varies depending on the light it’s in. I did my best to get the photos to be as uniform & close in color to how it appears to me but even that was self-defeating because outside the light changes so quickly. And even if I was sure the change in light had been so minimal, it didn’t really matter because everyone’s computer monitor can present the same color a bit differently. It’s a soft, pretty color with similarities to pastel shades- It’s slightly heathered appearance adds another layer of mystery as to how to describe lt. The yarn company dubbed it "cement" which in my opinion doesn't describe it either. In spite of being s color elusive to color- descriptive labels, It’s a color that compliments all complexions. It looks equally great whether worn over a skirt or with a pair of jeans- or anything else you want to pair it with. I’d say it goes with everything but you’ll have to come see for yourself! Because there are no buttons to be fastened you can just slip it on and be “good to go!” You’ll find this sweater likely to become your “Go to” sweater of choice!
** You’ll also find it makes a wonderful Christmas or birthday gift~ Or simply a special gift for a very special person! It’s bound to be a “hit!”
