These merino wool leggings are soft and super warm! They grow with your child with comfortable cotton waist and leg bands that adjust as they grow. Sized to fit 6 months to 3 years old so they will last a long time. They are eggplant purple and made from a luxury upcycled merino wool sweater and soft stretchy black and white striped recycled cotton belly and leg panels that fold down or up as your child grows. No harsh elastic to dig in, these are made for comfortable play!

I started making these for my own kids when they needed warm cozy pants that fit over their cloth diapers. I soon realized how versatile and durable they are. My own children have worn these and passed them down from sibling to sibling. Many prototypes have allowed me to perfect my design. I have chosen to add cotton waist and leg pants so there is plenty of stretch and comfort in these important areas. I source my materials from upcycled luxury merino wool and cashmere sweaters, giving them a new life on little legs! They are sewn in my home studio in Ontario with my own littles running around in the background.

Why wool/cashmere instead of polyester fleece or nylon? Unlike most conventional base layers, the wool I use is super soft, and not at all itchy. It is breathable and helps protect against rashes. Wool is naturally antibacterial and odour resistant, it is gentle on sensitive skin. It won't make your child sweaty, it warms when its cold out and keeps babes cool in the heat. It contours to the body and stretches nicely at the knees, bum, and waist.

Care:
These pants are meant to be played in, they allow for lots of squatting, running, and stretching. Please wash them in cold water and air dry. If they are put into a conventional dryer they will shrink. I have done a preliminary wash treatment on them which takes care of most shrinkage from the washing machine, but they should be air dried to extend their life. You will be surprised how quickly they'll dry hung over your shower bar or drying rack.

To Note:
I strive to be produce little to no waste at Pemma. These pants are made from recycled wool and cotton that I source. This purchase is giving something new life as an extendable wear clothing instead of going to the landfill. I save any trimmings and scraps for cushion stuffing, I reuse mailer envelopes or ship in compostable ones. My businesses impact on the Earth is a deep concern for me so I try very hard at making it as small as possible. I think you will be thrilled at how these pants will replace multiple pairs of cheaply made conventional cotton leggings and still be able to be passed down to other children.
