What kind of surface can I apply a vinyl decal to?

They can be applied to clean, smooth, hard, dry surfaces such as wood, walls, windows, mirrors, doors and even appliances such as fridges and dishwashers. We recommend installation to smooth, semi-gloss or gloss enamel paint. Avoid matte finish Latex paints and paints that contain anti-graffiti agents or stain blockers as well as Low VOC or VOC free paints, sand paints and suede paints. Not recommended for application to unpainted wood, textured walls, stucco, panelling, concrete, brick or over grout lines. The decal will take on the same texture as the surface it is placed on. The lettering won't adhere properly to fabric, rough surfaces, dirty walls, or to paint that isn't well bonded with the underlying surface.

How long must I wait after painting before I apply my decal?

Allow new paint to dry for at least 3 weeks prior to application of the vinyl. If you would like to test our vinyl on your surface, please convo us for a sample. If you apply the decal before the paint cures, as it cures it can release gasses that may cause the decal to lift and not adhere properly. Decals are best applied within 4 weeks of order so plan your purchase accordingly.

Use a mild household cleaner, a soft cloth or sponge, and a light touch. Avoid cleaners that contain alcohol or abrasives.

How can I make sure the decal will stick to my wall?

Our decals will adhere to almost every surface, however, we cannot guarantee that the product will work with all kinds of wall paint and texture available in the market. Paint manufacturers modify their formulas constantly and it is impossible to keep up with a list of paints safe for decals. That is why I offer free sample to test your wall before the order is processed. 1) Receive your order 2) Test your wall with the sample 3) If it doesn’t stick, then there is a good chance your larger decal will not stick. You can send unused decals back for a full refund (sans shipping). 4) If it sticks, you should be good to go with your larger decal.

To successfully apply a wall decal to a textured surface, clean the wall, use heat to soften the decal, and apply firm pressure while working in small sections. For stubborn areas, a heat gun can be helpful. Use the right tools: A hair dryer or heat gun and a squeegee are essential for proper application. Patience is key: Working slowly and carefully, especially in the initial stages, will lead to a better result. Don't overheat: Avoid overheating the decal, as it can damage the material.

How to apply delicate wall decal?

To apply a delicate wall decal, clean and dry the wall, then lightly mark your desired location with a pencil and level. Carefully peel the decal's backing, positioning the exposed sticky side to the wall by slowly unrolling the rest of the backing paper and smoothing it down simultaneously. Use a credit card or squeegee to press the decal firmly, working from the center outward to eliminate air bubbles. After a few hours, slowly peel the clear transfer tape away at a sharp angle, ensuring the decal remains on the wall.

What to do if wall decal won't stick?

If your wall decal won't stick, thoroughly clean and dry the wall surface to remove dust and residue. Warm the wall and decal with a hair dryer to activate the adhesive. Ensure the wall is a smooth, flat, non-textured surface, as textures prevent proper adhesion. Finally, use a squeegee or credit card to apply firm, even pressure from the center of the decal outwards to eliminate air bubbles and help it bond firmly.

How to apply large delicate wall decals?

To apply a large, delicate wall decal, first ensure the wall is clean, dry, and smooth. Position the decal with painter's tape, then use the "hinge method" by taping one edge, folding the other half of the backing paper away, and smoothing the exposed decal onto the wall with a squeegee or credit card. Continue removing the backing in sections, smoothing as you go, and slowly peel the transfer paper away at a sharp angle. For any bubbles, gently push them toward the edges

★ HOW TO INSTALL A WALL DECAL ★

Transform your space in 5 easy steps!

1. Prep Your Wall
Clean your wall with a dry lint-free cloth or a slightly damp sponge (use water only, no soap). Allow the wall to dry completely.
Note: If you recently painted, wait at least 3 weeks before applying.

2. Plan Your Placement
Tape the decal to the wall with painter’s tape (without removing the backing) to find the perfect spot. Use a level or a ruler to make sure it’s straight.

3. The "Hinge" Method
Tape the top edge of the decal firmly to the wall. Flip the decal up and slowly peel away the white paper backing, starting from the top. The decal should stay stuck to the clear transfer tape.

4. Apply & Smooth
Slowly lower the decal back down against the wall. Using a squeegee (or a credit card wrapped in a soft cloth), press firmly from the center outward to remove any air bubbles.

5. Remove the Transfer Tape
Wait about 10 minutes for the adhesive to bond. Start at one corner and slowly peel the clear transfer tape back at a sharp angle (flat against the wall). If the decal starts to lift, stop and rub it down again firmly.

Troubleshooting Tips:

Bubbles? Use a tiny pin to prick the bubble and press the air out.

Won't Stick? Use a hairdryer on a low, warm setting for a few seconds to soften the adhesive while pressing it into the wall texture.
