Custom Painted Motorcycle Helmet

Have an idea for a one-of-a-kind custom helmet? I can help make bring it to life! I’m a multi-medium artist based in Southern California and I can customize pretty much anything. A bold helmet has always been a must for me on the road - it makes a huge difference in safety, allowing other drivers to more easily spot you!

Custom Helmet Options:

I prefer that you provide the helmet you’d like me to paint to ensure the best fit for you. Once an order is placed, I will send you an address where you can ship either:

A) a helmet you already own OR
B) order a new helmet and have it shipped directly from the company to me for customization.

How to Order:

When you order a custom helmet, please send me a message describing the design you’d like me to paint. Feel free to include photos as a reference or keywords like, “flowers, skull, lettering, etc”. I also appreciate when customers give me some loose parameters along with creative freedom. If you have specific colors in mind, note those as well.

Production Timeline:

Custom helmets can take anywhere from 2-10 weeks depending on the design and how many other commissions I’m working with at the time. Expect your project to take the full 10 weeks and please be patient. Custom paint is a process and does not happen overnight. Please ship your helmet immediately after completing purchase. The sooner you ship, the sooner I can get to work. You will receive a shipping confirmation from Etsy when your helmet has shipped. A maximum of 2 progress photo updates are available upon request. Please remember that progress photos do not show a completed helmet: they’re only provided as a project status assessment.

About the Artwork:

All artwork is custom-made by myself. Please refer to my Instagram (@golddustcustoms) to see more samples of my work. Helmets are cleaned and surface is prepped before paint is applied to ensure proper adhesion. I use high-quality automotive enamel paint (One Shot Paints, House of Kolor, or Spray Max) mixed with a hardening additive. This additive makes paint semi-permanent and includes a UV protectant. Clear coat is available upon request. It is critical that you clearly communicate any expectations regarding your project with me clearly ahead of time. My goal is to make sure you are satisfied with the end result.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I use paintbrushes and all artwork is HANDPAINTED. You should expect to see brushstrokes and/or texture. I do not airbrush or use graphics. Expect a human touch. If this is the finish or look you’re going for, I may not be the right artist for your project.

Care:

You can use any gentle cleaning solution to clean your helmet but avoid any harsh cleaning chemicals (if you wouldn’t use it on your car or bike, don’t use it on this helmet either!) Obviously banging your helmet into objects, dropping it, or treating it carelessly may cause damage to the artwork and original paint. Take care of your helmet: while it’s structural integrity is dependable and the helmet is DOT certified, the cosmetic aspects of your helmet will not hold up in an accident/sliding situation.
