This reproduction celebrates the timeless movie classic "Gone With the Wind." In the first segment of the movie, Scarlett entertains her suitors at a BBQ, but her heart is already set on Ashley Wilkes. This necklace is a reproduction of her coral necklace. it is made in the vintage style, with vintage and reproduction findings.

Antebellum jewelry such as Scarlett's featured salmon pink coral, and this reproduction is faithful to the look of period materials. For this piece, I have used coral-colored Swarovski Crystal pearls, which have a cream, not pearlescent, finish. Vintage brass and reproduction findings were used to make a rendition as close as possible to the movie necklace. The chain and clasp are gold-filled, which is a heavy plate that has a very long-lasting finish. A darker salmon color pearl bead is available in extremely limited quantities.

This necklace was originally designed by Joseff of Hollywood, jewelry designer to the stars during Hollywood's Golden Days. It was designed and executed in coral, which at this point is not available in the quality necessary to make a fine reproduction.

The central coral rosette features a teardrop prominently at the bottom, and the gold-filled chain leads up to identical rosettes that rest on the collarbone. Twin chains reach back to the clasp (The clasp was interpreted by myself. I haven't found a photo of the back of the necklace).

Unfortunately, Swarovski has decided to withdraw from the private market and, from what I understand, will only sell their own creations from their own stores going forward. That means these beads are no longer available, and when they are gone, unless I can find a substitute, this necklace will no longer be made.
