Very carefully! In most cases, we individually wrap each plant in tissue paper for safe travel (plus they are fun to unwrap).

Most succulents are shipped bare root, some with fine roots will ship semi-bare root in pots.
Most Hoya and House plants either ship in the pot or have the option to ship semi-bare root or in the pot.

We hear from customers repeatedly that they are impressed with the condition of their plants on arrival.

Holiday Shipping Deadlines:

Order your live plants by December 15 for First Class Service (not guaranteed) or by December 16 for Priority Mail / Free Shipping orders.

For shipments to Hawaii and Alaska, plan to order a couple days earlier, as USPS does not indicate a guaranteed delivery date.

If you are not happy with your purchase, just contact us within 48 hours and include pictures of the areas of concern.

After carefully unwrapping the plant, the next step is to get it happy. All plants will need an adjustment period. Your plant may arrive looking a little wilted or deflated after living in a box for a few days. The plant will want a drink. Plant it in well-draining soil and give it a drink. Keep it in bright shade (or bright indoor light), with good air flow, for a few days.

Slowly transition the plant to direct sun - an hour of morning sun the first couple of days, couple hours the next few, etc. 'Full sun' generally means 4-6 hours of direct sun and most plants like to receive that direct sun in the morning.

Warning: Succulents sunburn easily if put directly in the sun without a transition period.

Seem odd, but it's correct and here's why:
The shipping cost is determine by weight, and usually, two plants (unless small) + box is over 1 lb in weight. Anything over 1 lb has to ship via Priority mail.

Good to know:
We always refund shipping overage, so if the plants do ship for under 1lb rate, we will refund the overage (but still ship Priority mail).
IMPORTANT: If you want to keep it at first class mail, you could place a separate order for each plant so they ship in separate boxes - BUT you must note NOT to combine your orders.
This is because --> Automatically combining orders is a service we provide our customers so no one misses out on any one-of-a-kinds due to shipping costs.

Yes!!! We do everything we can to catch all multiple orders and combine them into one to save you on shipping costs.

We do stick to our promised shipping times, so this usually applies to orders placed within a couple of days of each other.

If it's been more than a couple days between orders, the plants for your first order were likely pulled and prepped and we will get them on their way to you ASAP.

You can always leave us a note with special shipping requests in the 'order notes' field, and we'll get back to you ASAP.

If your plant was extremely damaged during shipping or arrives unhealthy, please contact us within 48 hours of plant arrival and send pics of all of the following:
-the damaged plant
-the box condition
We will make it right and make sure you are happy.

*EXTREMELY damaged means the plant is damaged beyond survivability. Any live plant that has been in a dark box for a few days is likely in shock and need of some TLC. The color might change, thin Hoya leaves might look wilted. Leaves and branches can become damaged during shipping or just from the plant going into shock. In 99% of these cases will bounce back and thrive.

The short answer is yes! Aeonium leaves are notoriously sensitive and bruise easily, but they also heal and outgrow the bruises.

Even just touching the leaves of an Aeonium will cause a bruise to show the following day (this is important if you're using them in arrangements; they can look beautiful and you won't realize until the next day that all the leaves have black bruises).

When unwrapping an Aeonium (or any plant) take care to hold it by the stems, or the wrapping around the root ball and touch the leaves as little as possible. This being said, expect an Aeonium to have some bruises and lose some leaves after shipping.
