Clothing sizes prior to 1990 tend to be very different from today. A vintage size 14 can actually fit like today’s size 6. Always check the measurements. Also, every decade had specific fits/cuts. For example, the 80s tended to have boxy shapes, and women in the 50s often wore girdles that cinched in waists. Measurements provided should be utilized as an estimated guide. The best way to ensure proper fit is to compare given measurements to a similar garment you already own.

Vintage items are one of a kind, therefore restocking an item once it is sold is impossible. If you see something you love, get it while you can!

Tips When Shopping Vintage

Vintage blouses and dresses used to commonly be worn with camisoles and slips, therefore expect them to be more sheer than today’s garments. Vintage skirts and pants were almost always designed to be worn at your true waist (high). Therefore, a maxi (long) skirt might seem to fit too long for you if you try to wear it low waisted because it wasn’t designed to be worn that way. Elastics, often in waistbands, tend to deteriorate with time. Expect this, and hey, it’s a great excuse to wear a cute belt. An elastic gathered sleeve can usually simply be stitched back to life. Be gentle with your vintage clothing when it comes to washing. If you have an extra special or rare item, it would be worth your while to hand wash and air dry.

USPS Ground is our preferred shipping carrier. You always have the option to upgrade your shipping to USPS Priority Mail at checkout. It is the buyer’s responsibility to provide a safe location for package delivery. If your package is missing but the tracking states delivered, it is the buyer’s responsibility to contact USPS/UPS or to file a police report. The buyer is responsible for providing the correct shipping address. If an item is returned by USPS due to an incorrect or undeliverable address, the buyer is responsible for the additional cost to reship the item, or the order will be refunded minus the original cost to ship the item and a $5 restocking fee.
