Copper is a great metal for jewelry with lovely warm tones. There are many benefits to wearing copper beyond its beauty. Many people use copper to aid with degenerative conditions like arthritis and joint pain.


-COPPER JEWELRY DOES REQUIRE SOME CARE-

Some people may experience a greening of their skin when they wear copper. The green color is caused by oxidation which
is a completely natural chemical reaction.

Often it is simply dependent on the wearers lifestyle and body chemistry. The salts in our sweat cause oxidization and if the wearer is continuously exposing their copper jewelry to harsh chemicals in things like lotion, soaps and hand sanitizers it will increase the chances of oxidization and greening of the skin.

I can not guarantee oxidation will not occur but I do provide a free polishing cloth with all my rings and you can find simple ways to keep copper jewelry clean and dry online.

I hand polish every piece with a highly concentrated anti-tarnish compound and then apply a jewelers wax which also prevents oxidization.

If you experience oxidation and green deposits on your skin you can wash your hands thoroughly to remove the color and if the stain is persistent you can gently rub the skin with tooth paste.

The most important thing to do to prevent oxidation is to keep your copper jewelry clean and dry.
