Introducing the first two cards in The Poppies Suite:
Blue Poppies for Redon & Poppies Remembered

Every summer I look forward to the return of the golden poppies, which are volunteers and come up randomly around my pond. These two pieces evoke the feeling of a summer afternoon dreaming in flowers. Blue Poppies is an homage to one of my favorite artists, Redon. Redon is known for his naive and beautiful still lifes. If he felt like a yellow poppy was blue at heart he would certainly have painted it that way, although it may exist only here and in the imagination.

The original artwork is created from a blend of my own photography and painting and printed by me in my studio on fine Moab Entrada Rag paper. This heavyweight 100% paper has a unique soft texture ideal both for fine art printing and for writing with pencil or pen. The cards are printed with archival inks and are suitable for framing. Larger limited edition prints of these artworks are available in my shop, links below.

“Blue Poppies for Redon” has blue poppies; “Poppies Remembered" is pale gold and black.

Each card is individually wrapped with an envelope in a clear cello bag ideal for giving as gifts. Cards fold to 5x7 inches to fit an A7 envelope, a generous size offering room to write a letter or a brief note as you choose.

Not only were the cards gorgeous and of higher quality than I expected, Iskra added many little touches to the packaging of this order that made the experience of opening it a treat for me, before even beginning to write on the cards. Her art and design sensibility complement one another, and clearly go hand and hand with her professionalism and attention to customer delight. I originally saw this piece at the SAM Gallery in Seattle. For the past two years I have been pining over purchasing the work for my home. I reached Iskra and was able to coordinate a purchase of a limited edition print. She was extremely responsive and I was able to setup an in person pickup.
