This costume is shown as a men's Union and Confederate uniforms.

The fitted, lined coats have slits, buttons and deep pleats at back, roll back shoulder seams, two-piece long sleeves with buttons, front button closures and stand-up collar. Single-breasted coat A is upper-thigh length. Double-breasted frock coat B is above knee length. The trousers have split waistband, tab, buckle at back and button fly closure. Trousers D have purchased twill tape or military braid at side seams. Shown with purchased hat and belt.

Body measurements for sizes included in this package are XL (46-48): bust/chest 46"-48", waist 42"-44" and hip 47"-49"; XXL (50-52): bust/chest 50"-52", waist 46"-48" and hip 51"-53"; and XXXL (54-56): bust/chest 54"-56", waist 50"-52" and hip 55"-57".

Suggested fabrics are medium weight woolens. Trousers also in medium to heavyweight linen and cotton. Lining in lightweight cotton, sateen and lining fabrics.

This PDF sewing pattern is made up of 110 (US Letter) or 106 (A4) pattern pages and 27 instruction pages (US letter and A4). There are separate files for the pattern tiles and instructions, making it easy for you if you would like to print only the pattern and read the instruction files on a computer or tablet.

You only need to print the files that are relevant to you. For example, if you print on an A4 sized printer, you will want to download both A4 files, but can ignore the US Letter sized files. If you print on a printer using US Letter sized files, you will want to download both US Letter files, but can ignore the A4 files. You will also want to download the instructions file for your sewing instructions.

Printing instructions:
1. Can be printed in color or black & white to conserve ink
2. Pattern can be printed on regular letter paper (8.5" x 11") or A4
3. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the file
4. Every page is to be printed as Actual Size (not to scale) with page orientation set to Portrait

Tiling Steps:
1. Print the first page of your tiled pattern. Measure the green registration mark that is printed at each border. Your measurement should be exactly 1". If you measurement is accurate, print the rest of the file.
2. Use the tile layout on the opening page of the pattern as a helpful guide.
3. Once you have trimmed your pages using the red cutting line as a guide, begin tiling the first 2 pages of the pattern.
4. Overlay the left side of page 2 onto the right side of page 1 using the green registration marks as a guide. They should line up exactly and cover each other. When lined up, tape into place.
5. Continue this way across the entire row. Start with row 1, then building onto each row to complete.
6. Once complete, trim or trace the pattern pieces for the view you are making and then refer to the sewing instructions to make your garment.
