Before buying, read the item description for the information about what kind of file the listing has and what app or requirements might be needed. For example, lots of my lettering kits have Procreate brushes in them as .brushset files. These will only work with the app Procreate on iPad.

I highly recommend a first generation or second generation Apple Pencil. That is what I use and what I test the brushes with so I can’t speak to how well the off brand styluses work. I have had people say that they worked great but I have also heard the opposite and that the Apple Pencil gets the best results. Also, one of the newest Apple Pencil usb-c version is not pressure sensitive.

Some of my brushes aren’t pressure sensitive at all (like the Monoline Magic) so they’ll even work with your finger! Procreate stamps also aren’t pressure sensitive.
