The zip file includes the full alphabet of letters to make cube stacks using a laser cutter.
Files are designed for 8 different thicknesses between 0.19in (4.826mm) and 0.25in (6.35mm)
including: 0.19in, 0.20in, 0.21in, 0.22in, 0.23in, 6mm, 0.24in, 0.25in.

Characters include:
A Base/Lid File with slots to allow the cube to be opened to replace balloons
26 Letters: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z

A Side piece with centre cutout for use as a blank - or for creating any shape.

You can make a box (each a 15in cube) out of 6 pieces (2 x end plates and 4 characters)
The letters must be assembled in the same direction (not reversed or turned upside down). otherwise they won't go together.
These will assemble without gluing, but may be glued together for a permanent assembly and fitted into the lower end plate. It is intended to be a tight press fit.
The upper end plate can then be fitted onto the letters, also intended to be a tight press fit.

A material gauge is included in the files to help you pick the correct file for the wood thickness you have. Please cut this out using the same settings you would use for cutting the boxes.
The gauge can be used on screen as well to ensure the file has imported at the correct scale (the gauge is 2in across by 10in high). There is also a 1in square in each file that can be used to check the import scale (please set it's color (orange) to ignore.

For these boxes it was decided not to create files for thinner material, thicker wood gives this design strength to hold the shape together and allows the cube to be dismantled and re-assembled multiple times.

The file is arranged with all characters for a wood thickness in the same file, rather than a new file for each character. For larger laser's that use Lightburn or similar the file can be imported, ungrouped and then use the 'Cut Selected Object' option to cut the character you need, while ignoring the others.

As the file is 15in across it can be cut using the Glowforge Pro's passthrough feature.

For material planning, a stack of 4 boxes will need one 8' x 4' sheet (makes 18 pieces) and one 8' x 2' sheet (makes 6 pieces). 24 pieces is needed for a stack of 4 blocks.

Please note, this will not fit on the Glowforge Basic or Plus. We have an alternative alphabet listing sized for these laser cutters.
