My item was delayed can I have a refund?

Unfortunately not. Postal delays are beyond my control so please be patient. If you need your order to arrive for a specific date please consider upgrading your delivery. If your order has not arrived after the estimated delivery time and you are unable to track it, please contact me and I'll be happy to help.

Why can I not track my item using the tracking number?

If you have selected standard delivery unfortunately this does not have a sophisticated tracking number available, it usually only updates upon delivery. On the whole, letterboxes and parcels arrive at most within 5 working days after dispatch, please contact me if it has not arrived in this time. If for any reason you cannot see your tracking number/reference number either in your email or by logging in to your account, drop me a message and I’ll be happy to pass on the details.

How long will it take my order to arrive?

Standard parcels are sent via Royal Mail second class and usually arrive within 2-4 working days, if there are no delays. Tracked 24 and 1st class orders usually arrive in 1-2 working days without delays. Some European and international orders are experiencing bigger delays and are arriving after 3 weeks due to flight delays, cuts and cancellations and mail centres have experienced significant staff cut backs as well as a sudden surge in post. If you have received a dispatch email or can see on your account there is a tracking number that means your item is on its way to you or your recipient and it is in the system.

I have a problem with my order

Please message me, I am more than happy to help! Hugs from Afar is here to bring joy and comfort so I want to make sure each customer is happy. Very rarely however, I make mistakes, I am human after all. However, it should go without saying, please speak to me with respect - this is not a big corporation but a one woman show! I will always be respectful in my replies regardless, but it is so much nicer when people are pleasant (plus I’m way more likely to throw you a great deal). Please also think carefully before giving me a review below 5 stars as this really hurts my small business - I'm very reasonable, I promise!

I received a substitution

On some listings there are different product variations for each box. Please read the listing carefully (don’t necessarily go by the 1st picture alone). If you have a particular product that you wish to be included please write a message to me in the seller notes before placing your order. On some occasions, to make sure your order leaves on time, I may have to make a substitution- these are nearly always worth more than the original but if the product is totally different I will always try to message you first to check it is okay.

My item seems to be lost in the post

Please check the delivery estimate for when your order should have arrived (this will be in your dispatch email) and also allow for any possible delays due to strikes etc. If your order has still not arrived after a reasonable length of time (eg. after a week for UK 2nd class and a few weeks for international parcels) please contact me and I will investigate it further for you and get back to you with a solution.

Help, I’ve given the wrong address!

No problem, if you’ve made a mistake just message me as soon as you realise. If your item has not yet been dispatched it can easily be remedied. However, if your item has already been dispatched with an incorrect address unfortunately it is out of my control - sometimes items can be located by ringing Royal Mail but this is not a guarantee. Items with incorrect addresses are usually redelivered back to me and at this point I can refund the cost of an order minus the postage (if it is not personalised). Postage costs will become the responsibility of the buyer if you would like the item to be reposted.
