Sure! They are named after one of our favourite music genres, because of it’s play with colours and intervals.
Also, Jazzlamps are made from thrifted lampframes, which requires us to improvise like Miles Davis.
To accommodate our ideas about sustainability, we actively choose to gather used lampframes for our lamps instead of manufacturing new ones, hence there are no standardized sizes. This makes them truly unique, and as a customer, you are helping to recycle what’s already there. Through the ideas of wabi sabi, we also embrace small imperfections in our frames.
Our self-bought yarns are guaranteed organic. Gifted excess yarns, which we do accept in order to take a step towards a zero waste society and lifestyle, can be synthetic, non-organic or of unknown origin. For when this is of importance to you, we do list this in our product details above.
The yarns are woven by hand, a lengthy process, done with real pleasure and utmost thought and care.
