THE STORY: The house of Rodier descens from an old weaver family. It was founded in 1852 by August Rodier in Picardy (northern France) and soon became famous for its subtle weaving technique for precious fabrics. In 1916, Jacques Rodier developed a jersey fabric. Rodier Jersey revolutionized haute couture and was used by designers such as Christian Dior, Paul Poiret and Madam Grès. In 1956, Rodier launched his own knitwear collection. In the 1960s, it finally reached the highest sales figures due to its high quality. In 2004, the brand was bought by Folia and still exists today.
