1. Why mindfulness?
The more you are fully engaged in reality as it is presented to you right now, the more you are able to enjoy life and have the full human experience
2. Why write in paper?
Once you pick up the pen, and press it against a blank page, you become halfway committed to engage in what is front of you. And once you have started writing things down, the chances of you following through what you wrote is much higher than your thoughts sitting in your head or typing it down.
3. What are the steps to effectively review your day?
a. Star with being present in the moment and acknowledging what your senses tell you without making any judgment about it
b. Recall things that you are grateful for
c. Look back and identify the highlight of your day
d. Examine your actions and assess whether you could have made things differently
e. Plan your day ahead based on your lessons learned today
f. Identify the thoughts that are in your head
4. Why do I need to be grateful?
When we practice being grateful, we pay less attention to things that we do not have and instead our minds are focused on things that we actually have. Our brains are too smart that when it picks up this positive trend, it fuels and motivates our whole being which makes us feel relaxed and at peace with our current state of mind.
5. Why do I need to be aware of my thoughts?
Not all of our thoughts needed execution. While we cannot control the million thoughts that are produced in our head, we have a choice on which one we will pay attention to. Choose wisely and choose whichever will add value to your wellbeing
6. What are good questions to ask when making decisions?
C.S. Lewis and Aristotle both agreed when they have come into conclusion that -
There are only 3 things worth doing in life:
Things we ought to do
Things we've got to do
Things we like doing
7. What are the source of the concepts applied in this journal?
This journal is mainly influenced by western philosophy, classical faith traditions and consultation with life experiences.
