Heavy Metal Knitting – the odd ball of all sports, crafts and hobbies was coined during the darkest and coldest hours of the Finnish winter in Joensuu, Finland. The year was 2018 and the term was said aloud by a journalist in a radio interview covering local handcrafts professionals.

Knitters were knitting for the whole duration of the interview (of course), which eventually led to the magical question that apparently no one had asked before:

“Is it possible for a knitter to knit eyes closed, hands behind neck like Yngwie Malmsteen does play his guitar?”

Well of course it is! And thus the Heavy Metal Knitting World Championships was born!

Just in case you can't make it to Finland this year, check out this set of 5 "heavy metal" stitch markers! These are my EXCLUSIVE movable design, the Reversa-Clippy! One side of these Back in Black markers has a lobster clasp that will hang comfortably on most yarns with the exception of super-bulky variety. On the flip side is a round closed stitch marker that will fit up to a size 8US/5mm knitting needle. It's two stitch markers in one!

AND ... if you use two different colors of Reversa-Clippy Stitch Markers, use one on each side on your two-color brioche, to remind you what side you're on! Even Norwegian Knitting Death Metal band members need to know what the next stitch is.

Made from hand-coiled Black Magic Woman copper wire, the Rock and Roll All Night Black glass seed bead is glued over the joints to ensure smooth moving. Because the rings are hand-coiled and cut, your markers may be slightly wibbly-wobbly and not completely round. Set of FIVE markers. All stitch markers are shipped in a zipper bag in a padded envelope.

Fits needles up to size US8/5mm.

Nickel free.
