• If your metal pumps start tarnishing or rusting, the rust can be cleaned off by simply gently scrubbing the area with a non-scratch scouring pad or stay-clean scrub sponge.

•The brass + copper metal in the nozzle is made out of nickel or copper could oxidized in the presence of a base (i.e., the soap). It could turn the soap a little green (it’s nickel or copper oxide) after the first pump. It’s a chemical reaction between the metal + the soap, but it doesn’t seem to react with every soap especially dial clear hand soap.

It’s a chemical reaction between the metal + the soap, but it doesn’t seem to react with every soap especially dial clear hand soap. I noticed mostly any white soap could have that issue.

Rust typically occurs when the finish has worn and the raw metal is exposed to air and liquid. When soap or lotion sits on or in the exit point, it can break down the metal and start tarnishing it.

If your metal pumps (mainly silver) start tarnishing or rusting, the rust can be cleaned off by simply gently scrubbing the area with a non-scratch scouring pad or stay-clean scrub sponge. Periodically, scrap down your metal pump and it should last longer.

I got the smaller size for my bathroom 2 years ago, and when I wanted more for my newly remodeled kitchen I bought two larger sized ones. They are really nice, work well, and the customer service is exceptional. Highly recommend.
