For the first month of actual use, avoid taking the handbag out in wet weather. This should give the fibers sufficient time to become more flexible and therefore less likely to react with water.

The zippers and pulls could be improved. The pulls twist and are somewhat difficult to position for unzipping. The zipper was stiff and the teeth sharp. Hopefully, it will become less stiff with use. Seller suggested I use dry soap on them. The purse has that good leather smell.
