Chase off paper-nest-building wasps with some of these useful decoys! Many species of wasp are territorial and won't build their nests near another colony. These are meant to fool the wasps into thinking that another colony got there before them. Many people make and sell these, often out of paper maché, plastic, paper bags, and even knitted yarn, so there must be something to it. Mine are made from a tough plant-based plastic material that is renewable, recyclable, compostable, and guilt free. False nests have been used for decades, and while results cannot be guaranteed, reviews indicate that they are often very effective.
PLEASE NOTE – These will not immediately make all wasps disappear from your area. They are not magic. Their purpose is to make wasps build their nests elsewhere, and this can take time. After two years we rarely see wasps on or around our decks or garden shed anymore.
A double-sided adhesive pad is included for mounting, just peel and stick. These work very well and make installation easy. Printed instructions are included with each order.
These 3-D printed decoys are the right shape and size (about 3-1/2” wide X 4” tall) to fool wasps into moving on and looking for somewhere else to build their nests. They are very durable and will last many years in all sorts of weather. They are NOT painted; the color is part of the material so they won't show scratches or chips. I made my first ones four years ago and they look as good today as they did when new. I can't absolutely, positively guarantee that they are doing anything, but no wasp nests have appeared within thirty feet of any of my decoys. Testing over four summers and winters was important to give me the confidence to sell them and feel that they do work, but remember that every situation is different. Any place that wasps have built nests in the past is a good location. Good places include under the eaves of your house, under and around decks, in garden sheds, and in the branches of trees that are close to where people work and play. If there are existing active nests you must clear out the ones already there and destroy them. Be very careful! In the World of Wasps, territory goes to whoever gets there first.
A plug for the open end of each Decoy is included to keep out spiders and other many-legged creatures! They have a honeycomb pattern just like real wasp's nests, and simply press into the end of the Decoys. Add a drop of glue (super glue, Elmer's, anything should work) if needed to keep them in place.
Thanks for coming to my store, and please check out my other 3D printed items, plus my original paintings by me :)
