Item highlights
Seller's description
Goldfish Succulent Plant is an attractive and low-maintenance succulent with compact, rounded, and vibrant orange to yellow-green leaves, which resemble the shape and color of a goldfish. It’s often used in succulent arrangements or as a small accent plant in indoor and outdoor gardens. This plant is drought-tolerant and easy to care for, making it an ideal choice for beginners or those with little time for plant maintenance.
NOTE: This listing is for cuttings of this plant, no roots. We do not guarantee your personal success in rooting these successfully as we have no ability or say with how it will be cared for (lighting, medium choice, watering habits, airflow, etc…) and cannot be responsible for issues that arise from situations we have no control over, including our hardiness zone and care recommendations. You will find our rooting instructions below and recommendations for care and hardiness zones.
WEATHER NOTE: Because we ship from Ohio, we will not guarantee how your items will arrive if you do not add a heat pack to your order when temperatures are below 40° in the shipping state and surrounding areas. Be mindful of transit times and we recommend upgrading your shipping if you reside on the West Coast.
Rooting Instructions for Goldfish Succulent Plant:
1. Optional Rooting Hormone: Dip the cut end of the stem in rooting hormone for faster root development.
2. Prepare the Pot: Use a well-draining soil mix, such as cactus or succulent mix, or add sand or perlite to regular potting soil for improved drainage.
3. Plant the Cutting: Place the cut end of the stem into the soil, burying it about 1-2 inches deep.
4. Watering: Lightly water the cutting, ensuring the soil is just moist and not soaked. Water sparingly until roots develop.
5. Humidity: Place the pot in a bright, dry location with good air circulation. Use a clear plastic cover if extra humidity is needed.
6. Light: Provide bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the cutting.
7. Root Development: Check the cutting after 2-3 weeks for roots by gently tugging. Once resistance is felt, the cutting is rooted.
8. Transplanting: Once roots are established, transplant into a larger pot with a well-draining soil mix.
Ideal Growing Conditions for Established Goldfish Succulent Plant:
1. Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some direct sunlight, but too much can cause leaf burn.
2. Watering: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
3. Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures. Thrives in 60-80°F (16-27°C) and can tolerate brief periods of cooler weather.
4. Soil: Needs well-draining soil to prevent root rot. A cactus or succulent mix is ideal.
5. Humidity: Low humidity is fine for this succulent, as it is adapted to dry conditions.
6. Hardiness Zones: 9-11 for outdoor growth, but is commonly grown as a houseplant in cooler zones.
