A lovely antique French Victorian woman's blouse / bodice dating from c1880. ~ This fabulous bodice is made from a beautiful deep blue satin with machine embroidered appliqué accents! It is lined in a fabulous medium weight cotton striped shirting fabric in tones of gray and white. There are the tiny hooks on the inner layer shirting fabric for closing and snaps on the satin layer. There are gorgeous fabric covered buttons that are purely decorative on the outside. My favorite feature is the sailor back collar! A gorgeous vibrant piece for display or light use! ~*~ ~ . ~*~
MEASUREMENTS : This lovely bodice measures 18.75 inches long. The sleeves measure 22.25 inches long. The chest from one underarm to the other laid flat measures 18.5 inches and the shoulders are approx. 13.5 inches ~
CONDITION : This piece is in as found not freshly laundered condition. ~ There are small holes in the satin at the sleeves as you can see in the photos ~ some fading on the body and especially under the armpits. The metal hooks are rusty and some rust stains are spotted around them. Really remarkable condition for it's age!
