This beautiful, hollow-bodied mahogany 16–string lyre harp is tuned to a major C scale that covers a little over two octaves. The tuning pegs are labeled for the correct notes. The sound hole shape is a stag cutout and the overall color is a rich, deep blue-green that lets a touch of the natural grain show through. I hand paint the star feilds and nebulae, and the crescent moon is an overlay of genuine abalone shell, all of which will be very similar to those in the photos unless you let me know modifications you would like to have. The hand-painted areas are then coated with a protective semi-gloss polyurethane varnish. The tone is beautiful and for anyone with background in another melodic chording instrument like piano, guitar, or ukulele, it is easy to learn. The small size makes it very portable. The tuning wrench (similar to a piano tuner) and extra strings are included, as well as an electronic tuner. Other custom decoration can be done, but message first to discuss any custom ideas.

My new lyre is even more beautiful and unique than it looked! And it sounds GORGEOUS! I love playing it on the porch. Exceeded expectations completely. I named my lyre Asteria, after the Greek goddess of prophetic dreams. :)
