There are so many watercolor papers to try, and as someone who loves to experiment with every possible option, I've spent a lot of money on paper. I put these smaller samples together for a quick and cheap way to test a bunch of papers. This set contains a number of common brands that are easy to find, so each artist can discover their own personal preference. Scroll down for the full list.
100% Cotton papers are the best surface for watercolor paints, but different brands vary in texture, behavior, and color display. Each of these samples is 140lb (300gsm), 2.5 x 3.5 inches (63.5 x 88.9 mm), and labeled with a paper strip around the sample so there is no adhesive on the actual sample.
Papers come in 3 different textures, Hot press, Cold Press and Rough. All are available in their own sets, or mixed sets. They've been divided into their own listings to ensure accurate shipping calculations.
Fabriano Artistico also makes a unique soft press with their Extra White paper. Since it is between hot and cold press, it is included in the Hot & Cold set as well as the Full set.
