Item will be gift wrapped in vintage fabric and tied with ribbon or wrapped in brown Kraft paper and tied with twine, whichever is appropriate.
The antique pale blue opalescent milk glass has three panels of shell design going all the way around this wonderful old shaker set. The shakers are 2-1/4" in diameter while resting atop a 2" round pedestal base. The metal screw lids are original to the set, showing considerable oxidation/rusting, especially to the saltshaker shown on the right. The lid inserts are made of a molded thick, hard paper-like product with a 6-sided star shape for shaker holes, aged and discolored but still retaining their shape.
Shakers measure 2-3/4" tall x 2-1/4" wide, in good vintage condition, both showing wear consistent with age & use. The pepper shaker (on the left) shows 2 cracks where the lid screws on and the bottom pedestal is out of round. The saltshaker (on the right) shows a manufacturer's flaw, which is not a crack, so be sure to see last picture for reference. No maker's mark, a lovely collectible set handpicked from an Iowa antique store going out of business. (vintage book not included)
