Thank you for your interest in our collection. If you’re considering stocking Lumiere Shades, welcome — we love partnering with thoughtful boutiques and design-led stores who value craftsmanship as much as we do. We build close, long-term relationships with our stockists and truly appreciate your feedback and collaboration. Please reach out to hello@lumiereshades.com so we can explore how to work together.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All our shades are handcrafted from natural materials — linen and rattan — and we’re committed to keeping our environmental footprint light. Our packaging is intentionally simple, protective, and free from unnecessary extras. This allows us to avoid adding costs for decorative packaging that often ends up in landfill. Thank you for supporting mindful, sustainable practices. We hope you love your shade. 🍃

Each Lumiere shade is lovingly made by hand, so we encourage gentle handling. Some of our linen models come with an internal metal stretcher, while others are designed to hang naturally without one. Please check the product description carefully — the correct frame (if required) will be included in your order. Linen is a natural fibre, and the fabric will naturally soften and fall into place within a few days. Don’t worry if your shade doesn’t settle immediately — it simply needs a little time. To keep your shade looking beautiful: -Give it a gentle shake or use a dry cloth to remove dust -Avoid wet cloths or any moisture -Do not hand wash or spot clean with water

Do the shades include electric cable?

Our shades are sold as shade-only, or you can choose one of our bundle options, which include: The shade -An electrical cable set -Our cable clip, designed to keep the bulb centred within the pendant We ship worldwide, and as electrical standards vary by country, we recommend working with a qualified electrician to install your pendant safely.

What lightbulb do you suggest?

To create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, we suggest using soft, warm-white bulbs that cast a gentle golden glow. This complements the natural texture of our linen and enhances the softness of the light. Our favourite choice: We recommend warm, dimmable LED bulbs. A warm white glow (around 2700K) gently illuminates the linen, creating the soft, golden ambiance our shades are known for. For the best result, choose dimmable LED filament bulbs — they offer beautiful warm light, low heat, and energy efficiency, allowing you to adjust the mood from bright to softly atmospheric.

Janette May 15, 2026

Sadly it doesn’t fit on my light fitting. Otherwise it would be lovely. Going to try to cut the wire? Any advice?

Janette May 15, 2026

Response from Wendy G

Hi Janette, thank you for your review, and we're sorry to hear the shade doesn't fit your light fitting. Before making any modifications, we'd love to help troubleshoot the issue. If you could send us a photo of your light fitting, we can check if a different solution might work. We definitely don't recommend cutting the wire before we've had a chance to help. We look forward to hearing from you!
