Highlights
French antique handpainted decorative deep plate with the depiction of fruit. Made on behalf of butcher L. Druguet, located in the Marché couvert Halles à Vichy S/A.
This market was the first covered market of the city, designed by the architect Lucien Coututier and was opened on June 23, 1867 on the Place du Marché. This was later renamed Place de la République and currently Place Charles-de-Gaulle. In 1936 the building was re-constructed.
The dainty handles of the plate are a lovely Art Deco characteristic. The plate is supposed to be placed on a standard.
Material: Porcelain. Handpainted.
Dated: 1920s/ 1930s
