FYI - see FAQ on cold weather installation. 1) The transfer tape may have lost some hold during shipping. Before applying, using the back of your fingernail and rub across the decal to ensure proper adhesion. 2) Clean the area with rubbing alcohol. Ensure it is dry and free from dust/oil after. 3) Carefully peel the backside of the decal off. This will leave the decal and applicator (front) 4) Align the decal starting from one side and move along smoothing it with your fingers. You can use the back of your fingernail to ensure good adhesion. 5) Peel the applicator slowly. If the decal starts to lift, re-apply using the back of your fingernail. Never use sharp objects. Then continue. 6) Enjoy your new decal bling!

Is this vinyl removable?

Yes. Outdoor decals: If you wish to remove the decal, you just need a little help from a hair dryer (or heat gun) set on a low setting. Wave it over the decal for 5 seconds or so to warm it up, then using your fingernail, try to peel away the vinyl. If it doesn't peel off easily, try a few more seconds of heat, then try again. Don't use a knife or other sharp objects as it may scratch the surface. Once the decal is off, you can use a mild cleaner to remove any glue residue. Safest way is to use your fingers to try to rub it off along with a clean cloth. In some cases, you can try rubbing alcohol if safe for your surface. Indoor decals should be easily peeled off by using your fingernail.

I ordered a matte colour decal, but it appears glossy when I got it?

Vinyl decals have transfer tape applied to assist with installation. The transfer tape itself that applied to the face of the decal is glossy, which makes the decal appear glossy. Once the decal is applied and transfer tape removed, the original matte appearance will show.

Will this decal damage my bike/ car / wall paint or surface when removed?

It shouldn't as long as proper procedure is followed when removing. Each listing identifies the vinyl used - Oracal 651 (for outdoor use) or Oracal (631 (indoor use). Oracal 651 sticks very well, where Oracal 631 is intended for indoor application (e.g. walls) where removal should be easier. For Oracal 651, see the FAQ on removal instructions. I'm an avid mountain biker and ride all year round. Through the summer heat, dust, rain and mud, as well as the winter cold. My passion is my testing ground for these decals and have them on all my bikes. They have been through the worst of conditions. Are they durable? Yes. However, everything has it's limits. They are subject to abuse just like any other decal on your bike, and their life depends on how well you take care of them. Don't forget application is also important. If you don't apply correctly, you may have problems down the line.

Difference between Oracal 631 and Oracal 651?

Oracal 651 is an outdoor permanent vinyl, it has a solvent based permanent adhesive. It is used for vehicle graphics, decals, mugs, tumblers, mailboxes, etc. Oracal 631 is an indoor removable vinyl great for walls. It has a removable water based adhesive. Applying Vinyl in Cold Weather

The average minimum temperature for applying vinyl to a substrate is 50°F. Adhesives don't like cold temperatures and applying vinyl to cold surfaces can cause the adhesive to be less tacky. Applying vinyl to a cold substrate can create a risk of the vinyl not adhering. It is not recommended to try to warm a surface up via heater then apply the decal as it could create moisture on the surface and cause the vinyl to not stick. Where possible, bring the item indoors, allow a number of hours for it to warm up to room temperature, then follow the installation instructions.

It’s a little tricky to take the back out without having the parts going with it. I bought one for my bike and one for my Yeti bottle and I had the same situation. Not a big deal, just be patient to get it done.
