Felt balls are meant to be spaced every 3 inches to fill the length of the string. The total number of felt balls for each length is as follows: -4 feet: 16 felt balls -5 feet: 20 felt balls -6 feet: 24 felt balls -7 feet: 28 felt balls -8 feet: 32 felt balls -10 feet: 40 felt balls -12 feet: 48 felt balls -15 feet: 60 felt balls -20 feet: 80 felt balls
