All items in my Etsy shop are digital PDF knitting or crochet patterns. I won't send finished items or printed patterns. Please read the individual listing carefully before purchasing to see exactly what is included.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD MY PATTERN?

Once Etsy confirms your payment, you’ll receive an email containing a download link. You can also sign in to Etsy using a web browser or computer and go to Your Account → Purchases and Reviews → Download Files. Digital purchases cannot currently be downloaded through the Etsy app. If you checked out as a guest, please use the link in your Etsy receipt email.

DO YOU ACCEPT RETURNS, EXCHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS?

Because these are digital products available for immediate download, returns, exchanges and cancellations are not normally accepted once the files have been accessed or downloaded. If there is a problem with your order or you have difficulty accessing your files, please send me a message through Etsy, and I’ll be happy to help. This does not affect your statutory rights.

CAN I SELL ITEMS MADE USING YOUR PATTERNS?

Yes, you’re welcome to sell finished items that you have personally made using my patterns. Please use your own photographs and credit Handy Little Me as the pattern designer wherever possible. The pattern PDFs and instructions may not be copied, shared, redistributed or resold.

CAN I USE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS TO ADVERTISE MY FINISHED ITEMS?

Please do not use photographs from Handy Little Me to advertise or sell your finished items. The photographs are protected by copyright and may have been created with photographers, models, or other collaborators. Please use your own photographs. If you need to advertise an item before making your sample, you may mention the pattern name and link to the original Etsy listing, but you may not use Handy Little Me images.

WHAT LANGUAGE ARE THE PATTERNS WRITTEN IN?

Most Handy Little Me patterns are written in English. Where a translated version is available, the language and files included will be clearly stated in the individual listing.

• DESCRIPTION

Create a simple triangle shawl that can be tied behind the waist like a Sontag shawl.

Inspired by the crossover shawl Claire is wearing in Outlander season 6.

Yarn

Cascade 220 in the colour 9325 x 4 (S) x 6 (M) x 8 (L)

Each skein is – 100g/3.5 oz/220 yards/200 meters.

Yarn weight – Aran/Worsted/10 Ply.

Needles

5mm (US 8) circular knitting needles / 40″/100cm cable.

I used my interchangeable circular needles on a 40″/100cm cable as there were many stitches.

I did not join in the round to knit.

• SKILLS

Level – Basic

This is a basic-level knitting pattern and the techniques involved are the knit stitch (working in garter stitch), KFB, casting on and casting off.

• SIZING

*Please note – you can knit this shawl until it is comfortable for you to wear – test it out against yourself to see if you want to make the length shorter or longer before casting off.

Small – width tip to tip – 70 inches / 178 cm

Length – top to bottom – 35 inches / 89 cm

The model in the photographs is wearing a small size using 4 skeins of yarn.

You can keep knitting this shawl to create a larger size using more yarn (for the medium or large size you will need 6+ skeins of yarn).

I have not yet started to knit the shawl. I'm trying to pick out a yarn online because we have no yarn shops for many miles. I've read through the directions, and I think it will be easy.
