A work of art for your sofa!
This is a cushion cover featuring a picture of a deer, based on a photo I took at Kilnsea near Spurn Point. It's appliqued using a variety of recycled fabrics.
The pieces of fabric which make up the deer have been cut out and finished - either by turning the edges under (for lightweight fabrics) or by zigzagging round the edges with a sewing machine (for heavier fabrics). They have then all been hand-stitched onto the front of the cushion. The cushion front and backs are sewn together by machine and finished neatly inside with an overlocker.
The background on the front of this cushion cover is made from a piece of vintage barkcloth - a Heals design from the 1960s - "Concord" by Pamela Colledge. The cushion back is made from a piece of vintage suiting. I've used the beautiful selvedge of this fabric as a feature on the centre back opening, which then fastens with 2 buttons. Because of the mixture of fabrics used, it's not washable and should be gently spot-cleaned and only if absolutely necessary.
It measures 45cm x 45cm (18" x 18"). Please note that this listing is for the cushion cover only. Posting cushion pads increases the postage costs considerably, so it's best if you source your own cushion pad locally - 45cm x 45cm is a standard size.
All of my cushion covers are unique - I use the same design, but vary the fabrics each time.
Go on - treat yourself!
