Totally "Mad Men", from its Peter Pan collar to it's all over pattern of little embroidered guitars (or are they ukuleles?), this is one adorable, vintage late 50s or early 60s "wiggle dress"! Sweet, pastel "bubblegum" pink, the fabric looks like linen, or perhaps a cotton/linen blend. Styling features a sweet, bias cut, flat-braid style piping on the front with a demure, decorative bow. (See photo 2.) First shot shows the dress pinned on my anorexic "model", but the back photo (#3) shows the dress actual size, as does the last photo showing the dress lying flat on the floor. It really is an ample size, unlike many tiny dresses of the day. And that day was probably somewhere in the early 1960s. This "shirtwaist" style dress was also called a "day dress", yet with it's fitted styling, it's also a "wiggle dress." Back zip. And take another look at the first photo -- the dress has a front pocket that goes all the way through -- like a sweatshirt style pocket. How unique! The dress is somewhat sheer, (but that's accentuated by the fact that it's shown on a jet black mannequin.) You'll probably want to wear it with a slip, as was required back then. Good vintage condition. Some light spots here and there, as shown in last photo which may come out in the wash or with dry cleaning although not very noticeable. Fabric has no holes, tears or damage that I can see. Color is not quite as "suggary" as my first 4 photos. A little more subtle, like the last photo. 1950s, 1960s.
