Our fixtures are compatible with all E26 medium base bulbs including Edison, LED, CFL and smart bulbs. Check the SPECIFICATIONS on the product page for details.

"Shade-ready" refers to lamps that utilize a specific fitting system for holding a lamp shade. The 2 common systems we use are explained below.

SOCKET SHADE RING:
For shades with a 1-5/8in (40-43mm) diameter opening on top that slips onto a fixture's threaded socket. The shade ring is used to secure the shade in place from underneath.

3-PIN SHADE FITTER:
For shades with a lip top that slips into the fixture’s shade holder and is held in place with 3 fitter screws. Shades in our shop using this system has a 2-1/4″ (57mm) diameter opening.

To use a shade with a lip top on a fixture with a threaded socket and shade ring, a 3-pin shade adaptor can be used.

Originally I purchased two of these, immediately loved them and returned to purchase two more. They have that oddly satisfying feeling of keeping everything in organized place. And because the cord can move freely, threading through the holder, it is nice to pull the cord out and then pull it to tuck it back -- out of site. These are phenomenal! And they arrived lightening fast
