Gift wrapping and packaging

All items will arrive in a sturdy outer shipping box, and inside they'll be in a cardboard gift box wrapped in tissue. They're ready to gift as-is, or add your own additional embellishments. Certain very special pieces will include a more deluxe type of presentation box; this will be noted in relevant listings and shown in photos. I'm happy to include your custom message with gifts! Include it when you place your order and it will be hand-written on a handmade card and enclosed with the shipment.

While COVID-19 remains an issue, I am not participating in any in-person shows or markets. Local in-person pickup/delivery is suspended until further notice. Research has confirmed that touching items or surfaces is not a significant risk for catching or spreading COVID, so my standard hygienic practices are sufficient and remain in place. Items you purchase from me will have been tried on as part of my process to ensure fit and quality control; after doing so I wipe them down with alcohol and give them a final polish before storing them in a designated container.

Custom and personalized orders

Custom work can be extremely rewarding, but it can also take a lot out of an artist and require the normal workflow to be completely upended. For right now I’m just not able to take on custom work, but if you’re interested in alterations to an existing piece please message me! I’ll do my best to accommodate you. For reference my policies on custom work are as follows: I offer custom designs on a limited basis. Please note that all custom work requires payment in full before work begins. If you want a custom piece by a specific date, contact me as early as possible. This is true year-round but especially during the winter holiday rush (which begins as early as September for artists like me)!

Recycled materials and provenance of stones

The metals I work with are recycled, and I share the habit of most jewelers in that I collect every scrap and shaving, even sawdust, to sell back to the precious metal refiners where they will recycle it again. I love buying from independent lapidary artists, but I also use some larger suppliers who serve the jewelry trade. All of the larger suppliers and a growing number of the smaller ones carry ethical production certifications. I am not aware of any ethical concerns regarding any of the stones or suppliers I work with, and if such information did come to light I would act to find a better option immediately. All stones are identified accurately to the best of my ability based on information from the supplier and my own knowledge.

Metal purity, nickel sensitivity, etc

I work with 925 sterling silver, Argentium silver (a patented alloy that is stronger, brighter, and resists tarnish), 999 fine silver, and some copper and brass. These are all nickel-free, and the solders I use are cadmium-free (as has been the law in the US for quite some time). While silver itself is unlikely to cause allergic reaction or skin irritation, some people may experience irritation from tarnish; thorough cleaning may help.

If you don't have a silver polishing cloth, you should get one. They're great, and will keep your jewelry looking great for years. Check my jewelry care section, or if you spend $200+ you’ll receive one free! I don't advise the use of liquid cleaning solutions- a lot of stones can be damaged or discolored by them. If you really feel the need to, either use a cloth and avoid getting any stones wet, or do a web search on how to safely clean that gemstone. The same goes for ultrasonic cleaning devices- consult the machine’s manual, and do a web search on any stones. All-metal pieces are at lower risk, but be aware that patina may be affected and results may be unpredictable. If you have any doubts, message me and we'll figure it out together.

Shipping & USPS Issues

USPS service has been running smoothly lately, but delays still happen and services like Priority Mail no longer guarantee the quick delivery they once did. Anytime you need an order by a certain date, be sure to order early- from September through December, order even earlier! Once a parcel is given to the carrier, I have absolutely no control. I see only the same tracking information you see. Packages are insured for their actual value. If a claim needs to be made, please contact me. I will work with you to get the best resolution possible from USPS. I cannot refund orders that are lost by USPS and not reimbursed by USPS. If you wish to use a different shipping carrier (UPS, Fedex, etc) please contact me and I'll look into it.

Customs declaration "gift" designation, EU Tariffs, VAT

Falsely marking merchandise as a gift on a customs declaration is against the law, and fines can be enormous- enough to destroy a small business. I do not falsify these official documents. I reserve the right to cancel orders if such a request is made. VAT is collected by Etsy during the checkout process on eligible orders. I have no involvement or control in this. I’m happily still serving clients in the EU, with the exception of Germany; German LUCID regulations enacted in 2022 unfortunately made it impossible. If the law changes I’ll happily resume sales to Germany. Tariffs are collected by the destination country and are the sole responsibility of the buyer. I have absolutely no involvement in or control over them.

Processing & Shipping Times

Orders are generally shipped within 1-5 business days of the order and payment being finalized. I use the address entered at checkout- if you need it shipped elsewhere we’ll need to cancel the order and create a new one. This ensures you and I are both protected by relevant Etsy and USPS policies. Message me with any questions or issues. Anytime you need a shipment to arrive by a specific date, I highly recommend upgraded service- and please let me know too!

Signature-Required Delivery

Orders over $200 will require a signature for delivery- this protects both you and me, and I would not bother with it if I did not feel it was necessary. If you have concerns or questions, please feel free to message me- protection isn’t worth much if it deters clients from purchasing, so I need and appreciate your feedback!

Materials: Argentium sterling silver

These small seam rings are handmade from Argentium silver. Argentium is a special alloy almost identical to 925 sterling, but with the addition of a touch of germanium that makes it very resistant to tarnish, changes its behavior under a soldering torch, and allows it to be hardened without specialized equipment (which makes it stronger, more durable and springy, and improves polishing). These rings are all made from 20 gauge wire (same as standard earring posts/hooks), 8.5mm/0.325” inside diameter, and sold in pairs. If you’re looking for a different size/gauge or singles, please message me.

Style B: 13.4mm/0.53” long by 10mm/0.4” wide
Style C: 11.7mm/0.46” long by 10mm/0.4” wide

When opening and closing, make sure you don’t distort the ring. Always swing the ends past each other, don’t pull them apart; see the photo. These are best for piercings that have fully healed; consult your professional piercer if you need help selecting the correct size jewelry for your piercing or installing/changing it.

To clean, wipe gently with a specially treated silver polishing cloth (available in my Jewelry Care section or included free with orders over $200). Like everything in my shop, you’ll receive these gift wrapped in a padded cardboard jewelry box perfect for gifting and storage.
