Is there a way to buy the botanical art unframed?

Unfortunately no. All of our pictures contain real pressed botanicals that are preserved behind 2 ml glass. To ensure the quality of the pressed flowers, leaves and grasses we only sell them framed.

Will any of the flowers or leaves fade over time?

We do colour enhance by hand the majority of our botanicals to prevent them from fading. We use a mixture of natural dyes, paints and other sealants to ensure the colours stay vibrant. However, because the pictures are not air sealed we do recommend keeping them out of direct sunlight. (Direct sunlight will fade anything and everything!) Putting them in a bathroom with humidity is a-okay!

What is Floriography?? I keep seeing it everywhere on your shop!

Great question! Put simply, Floriography is the language of flowers which dates back to the Victorian era (1837-1901). They would use flowers to send subtle secret messages during a time where outright flirtations were out of the question. All of our PRESSED WISHES pictures are packaged with the utmost care to ensure the frame, glass and botanicals do not get ruined. If you are sending something as a gift, feel free to let us know in the notes to seller and we can include a personalized note. :)

Returns and Exchanges?

If you're not happy with your purchase, then neither are we! We want you to be completely satisfied with your order! If you're unsatisfied please contact us within 3 days of receiving your item and we will be happy to return, exchange it or replace it. However, you will be responsible for return shipping costs and returning items in their original condition. Please note, the original cost of shipping the item will not be refunded.

What if my product is damaged?

When shipping our orders we make sure that the products ordered are sealed and packaged to the highest quality. If you find that your package is damaged upon delivery please provide a clear picture and submit it to info@pressedwishes.ca . From there we will determine a reasonable and fair scenario to replace your damaged product.

Does my oder have TRACKED SHIPPING?

All orders within Canada come with tracked shipping. However, all orders to the U.S., and International DO NOT COME with tracked shipping - please select the Shipping Upgrade of tracked shipping if you would like your parcel tracked. Thanks!

Press and preserve your own flowers, leaves, and botanicals with our large professional flower/herbarium press kits. This flower press is made of birch plywood and finished with a walnut stain.

They are great as a gift to your favorite gardener, herbalist, or naturalist. They are even perfect for pressing wedding bouquet flowers yourself to treasure the flowers for years to come.

Our small professional flower press has outside dimensions of 11 x 11 inches (28cm x 28cm) and a height of 3.75 inches (9.5cm). The paper inside the flower press measures 9 x 9 inches.

All small flower presses come with:
• 2 boards made of birch plywood, with a walunt stain finish
• 9 layers of acid-free herbarium (blotting) paper with a 400gsm weight and 10 corrugated cardboard
• 4 industrial wingnuts + 4 steel washers
• Instruction book

The triple combination of herbarium/blotting paper (moisture control), corrugated cardboard (air circulation) and wingnuts (pressure control) eliminates flower crushing in a heavy old book a relic of the past. botanicals. Our acid free 300 gsm weight herbarium/ blotting paper can be reused over and over and over.

- OUR PROCESS -
All of the botanicals are sourced from our gardens at Mabel Lake, BC Canada and the surrounding mountainous landscape. Each flower and leaf must be harvested at its peak to ensure the highest of quality. They are then pressed in a traditional flower press which includes herbarium papers. We do colour enhance the leaves by hand to protect them from fading. Each botanical is then carefully selected and artfully arranged onto a variety of handmade papers.

We use locally milled wood to handcraft a variety of frames. Each frame goes through a 5 step sanding process to ensure the highest of quality. It is then finished with a stain and/or lacquer to best suit the botanical artwork.
