Rare antique French white glazed ceramic mortar with its long glass pestle
Early 1900s

Sizes of the mortar: 6.8 inches wide at the widest on top including the spout (17cm) , inner diameter is 5.4 inches (13.5cm) and 3.2 inches high (8cm)
The pestle is 9.2 inches long (23cm)

The mortar is made of a white glazed ceramic
It has a spout
There is a mark G.D.V.
And it is signed on the bottom
The pestle is made of glass, it is solid and heavy, with pretty shapes

These white mortars are extremely rare
And the fact that it has its original glass pestle makes it even more rare!

Used as a chemist mortar or apothecary mortar

Perfect for in the kitchen and also pretty for display

Much prettier in reality than on the pictures, believe me

In a good vintage condition, as shown on the pictures, it is old and has been used, the glass pestle has a few chips on the top handle and some scratches, normal seen its age and use, nothing serious, please zoom in on the pictures to see all the details
These pieces remain solid and ready to use
