The short answer is yes—plated jewelry can tarnish if it is not cared for properly. However, with the right care, it can maintain its beauty for a long time. To keep your jewelry looking its best: Avoid contact with water (no swimming, showering, or washing while wearing) Do not apply lotions, perfumes, or other chemicals directly onto the jewelry Apply any products first, allow them to fully dry, then put your jewelry on Remove jewelry before working out or sleeping Plated jewelry is created through a heat-based process, and exposure to moisture and sweat can affect the integrity of the plating over time, leading to tarnishing.

If I am ordering more than one foot of chain, will it come in one continuous piece?

Yes, all chain will come in one continuous piece unless stated otherwise in the listing.

Will all of the items in the same plated finish match exactly?

Not always. I work with several different plating partners, and slight variations in tone and finish can occur between batches. If you’re looking for pieces that match as closely as possible—such as coordinating chains, charms, or findings—please feel free to reach out, and I’ll be happy to guide you to the best options.
